Dr. Melvin Washington

Patient education is the focus of Dr. Melvin Washington’s clinical philosophy and comfort is always his goal. He is committed to helping you understand your personalized comprehensive dental plan and his calm demeanor guides you through treatment.

Dr. Washington received a BS in Biology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and his Doctorate from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. While at UofL he received several honors including service awards and clinical recognition. He completed advanced medical and clinical training in the General Practice Residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. Since beginning private practice he has concentrated his continuing education in advanced cosmetic dentistry, restoring implants, and orthodontics.

Dr. Washington continues to give back to his community through charity, time, and mentorship.  He has devoted time to provide service to underserved communities throughout the country, in Belize, and the Philippines. Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Washington and his wife, C-A, find pleasure in traveling, photography, golf, and re-inventing old family recipes.

As the Patient Coordinator, Alexis serves as the conductor of the full patient experience to aim for a 5-Star visit each time you join us! With expertise in insurance, patient experience, and treatment presentations, Alexis adds an excellent resource to our team for patients as she combines her industry knowledge with care and conversation that helps patients easily understand options for their care.

Alexis describes herself as "happy, organized and goal oriented" with the personal motto "positive vibes only!"

Whether explaining treatment to patients or bringing ideas to enhance the patient experience, Alexis' laid back demeanor and bright spirit serve as the foundation for her personalized approach to patient care. While away from Relief, Alexis enjoys watching movies, spending time with friends, and spending time at dog parks with her favorite four-legged friend.

Ashley is our energetic Office Coordinator that continuously strives for excellence in all she does.  As a team member that has supported both front and back office operations, Ashley combines her flexibility with hard work and outgoing personality to ensure the team thrives each day. This if further enhanced by her meticulous attention to detail and ability to see the big picture while executing the on-going activities that seamlessly bring together all facets of patient care.

Outside of Relief, Ashley enjoys skating, playing UNO, and spending time with family.  She is also on the path to becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) which will add another layer to her love of dentistry and building relationships with patients and team members alike.

Brittany joins Relief Dental from the United States Navy and brings a wealth of knowledge in leadership, character, and dedication to her service as a hygienist.  In addition to always seeking new opportunities to improve, Brittany adds uses her perception to bring both a nurturing and entertaining charisma to patient interactions each day.  Outside of Relief, Brittany enjoys exploring cuisines from around the world and planning future adventures with her family.

With over fifteen years of experience in policy, procurement, and project management, C-A brings attention to the details behind the scenes in operations. During her tenure in the federal government, she served as a Workforce Development & Human Capital Readiness Co-Chair of the Atlanta Federal Executive Board and was a "40 Under 40" award recipient from the Atlanta Chapter of Young Government Leaders. As an official spreadsheet nerd, C-A helps the team stay on track and focused on the big picture of ensuring the team is primed for excellence while executing patients' day-to-day care.

C-A is a published author, docent at the High Museum of Art, an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta, HOA Treasurer, and alumni member of the Regional Leadership Institute (RLI), Leadership Sandy Springs, Leadership DeKalb, and the Women & Power program at Harvard University. She also is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, currently serves as a board member of the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra, and is one of the Tucker Business Association's newest members.

Additionally, C-A holds a MPA in Public Finance and Management from Georgia State University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Law from Wake Forest University.  

In addition to her role at Relief and community service, C-A enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Melvin Washington, professional speaking, reading, and staying connected with family and friends.

Naya joins our team from Venezuela and brings a unique professionalism as a Dental Assistant given that she formerly practiced as a dentist in her home country, giving her the ability to serve with excellence using a multi-dimensional skill set.  Her dedication to superior clinical care is further echoed by her personal motto, "consistency and dedication are the keys to success." 

As an assistant, Naya helps patients experience joy, comfort, and an efficient visit that reinforces Relief's respect for patient's time, as well as our love for fun and laughter.

Outside of her time at Relief, Naya enjoys cooking, dining, dogs, spending time with her parents, and Crossfit.
